    Mobile Biometric Service from l May 2016

    For your convenience, we are pleased to offer you our new “Mobile Biometric Service” to submit your visa application at your home or office.

    Changes concerning submission of minor child’s application

    Dear applicants,

    Please note that from 04 January 2016 onwards the copy of parent’s Schengen-visa cannot replace the notarized written consent. If parents have valid Schengen-visas and do not apply for a visa with their child, the notarized written consent and the copy of Schengen-visas must be provided. The consent must cover the whole duration of visa applied for.     The parents that have EU residence permit or EU passport can provide the copies of these documents and also the free form written consent, that would contain all the information required from the notarized one.

    Finland will open Visa Center in Arkhangelsk

    The Visa Department of the Consulate General of Finland in St.Petersburg, Murmansk Office informs that the Joint Visa Center in Arkhangelsk will start accepting the visa applications from 30 October 2015.

    Working Hours: From Monday to Friday 09:00-16:00, except official Russian holidays and days specified by the Consulate General of Finland.

    In the Visa Centre applicant can submit documents only for a short-term Schengen visa. In case of a residence permit, documents should be submitted directly to diplomatic missions of Finland in Russian Federation.

    Processing time of applications submitted in regional Visa Application Centre may be different from the processing time of applications submitted in Murmansk or in St’Petersburg considering the documents transit period. The regional centre will not accept applications for express handling (processed in 3 working days). Arkhangelsk residents may apply the visa applications for urgent submission in Murmansk or in St.Petersburg.

    Changes to Scheduling Appointments to the Consulate

    A new process has been designed and implemented to schedule an appointment to the Murmansk office of the Consulate General of Finland in St. Petersburg. Please visit the Schedule An Appointment Page for more details. Appointment process for the Visa Application Centre of Finland in Murmansk has not changed.

    Internal passport copy mandatory for all applicants

    Please note, starting 15 April 2014, Russian internal passport copy becomes mandatory for applying for a Finnish Schengen visa.
    All Russian applicants will need to provide their internal passport at the time of submission and provide copies of the main page with the personal details, as well as all the pages with the registration stamps.

    When documents are submitted by a representative it is mandatory to have copies of the applicant’s internal passport’s pages with the personal information and registration attached to the visa application form.

    Useful Information for seasonal workers

    A foreign citizen can have the right to work in Finland without the need of a residence permit if he or she is employed for berry, fruit, vegetable picking, works at animal farms for no longer than 90 days in 6 months.
    The application should be submitted only in person by the seasonal worker or by a group representative (as a member of an organized group).
    The application can be submitted to the Murmansk office of the Consulate General of Finland in St. Petersburg or to the Visa Centre of Finland in Murmansk. An appointment has to be booked in advance to submit application at the Consulate. To apply at the Visa Centre no appointment is required.

    Personal data processing consent. Information for individual applicants.

    According to the Federal law of Russian Federation “About personal data” it is mandatory for every applicant to sign the “Personal data processing consent” since May 2011.
    Please note that all applicants who submit documents through authorized representatives are also obliged to sign this document in advance or to give a power of attorney to a representative. Don’t forget that if one of the group members submits documents for rest of the group, he/she needs to have this document or power attorney from the other group members.
    Power attorney can be notarized or handwritten.
    A legal representative (parents, tutors, etc.) should sign this document for a minor (all children under 18). You can find the document here.

    The use of electronic devices, mobile phones included, is not allowed in the Visa Application Centre
    All the mandatory fields in the Visa Application Form are to be filled
    The applicant’s own signature has to be present in p.37 and three on the last page of the Visa Application Form
    All the submitted copies have to be of good quality and easy to read
    Applicants who are not citizens of Russia and those traveling to France or Iceland have to submit applications in person
    An official invitation has to be original (or its copy) with stamp and signature, also contact details of the inviting organization or person

    Parental consents for minor child. Important Information for Applicants.

    If the applicant is a minor (under 18 years) and travels alone or with one of his/ her parents, a written, notarized consent of the second parent or the guardian is required. If the consent cannot be provided, then other documents providing the reason for the lack of permission (single parent reference or other documents) are required.

    The consent should not be older than 12 months upon the day of submission and should cover all Schengen countries.
