This site provides information on procedures applicable to prospective applicants residing in Russia who wish to apply for a short stay Schengen-visa (up to 90 days during a six (6) month period) to Finland.

The Visa applications are handled and the decisions are made at the Consulate General of Finland. Visa Centre offers the option of courier service to return passports and documents submitted, directly to your door step.

For Prospective Applicants

Applicants who wish to apply for a visa are requested to read the information on this site carefully. The guidelines listed on this site will help you to prepare your documents as accurately as possible. This will reduce the risk of your application being incomplete or taking a longer time to process.

Please note that your visa application form will be available for modifications and printing within 14 days after it’s completed.

If necessary you can print your completed visa application form at the Visa Centre.

Visa Application Process - How to submit an application at the Visa Centre of Finland
Step 1 : Prepare your application and supporting documents:
Go to "All About Schengen Visas" link on this website to understand details of various visas – here, you can find information on the photo specifications, documents required, processing times and more. Complete visa application form online – it will save your time during visit to the Visa Centre.

Step 2 : Book an appointment to visit Visa Application Center: 
To visit Visa Application Center we recommend you to schedule appointment. You can book an appointment online or by calling the Call Center. You can also visit the VAC without an appointment.
Please ensure you read the security regulation notice before visiting the center.

Step 3 : Submit your application:
Visit Visa Application Center and submit your completed Visa Application Forms along with required supporting documents. Please see the Contacts Us page to find the center. You may request for courier return of passport to avoid a second trip to the Visa Centre for collection of processed application.

Step 4 : Pay application fee:
After submission you will be advised of Visa Fees, and guided to the cashier where you need to pay in Rubles or credit/debit cards. Receipt will be provided for all payments made at the Center.

Step 5 : Collect your ready passport:
Track the progress of your application as per the tentative schedule and come accordingly to pick up your passport. If you have opted for courier service, receive your passport at the comfort of your chosen address.

Ways of collection passport at the visa application center:

1. Personal: Present your internal passport (or foreign passport copy for foreign citizens), agreement with the ICR receipt and cashier receipt.
2. For close relatives: Present your internal or foreign passport, agreement with the ICR receipt and cashier receipt, original of the documents proving your family ties (birth certificate, marriage certificate, documents proving surname/name change)
3. For the employee: Present your internal or foreign passport, agreement with the ICR receipt and cashier receipt, power of attorney from the company for collecting the documents.
4. By the 3rd parties: Present your internal or foreign passport, agreement with the ICR receipt and cashier receipt, notarized power of attorney for collecting the documents, copy of the principal\principal’s passport.
Notice! Applications for Schengen-visas to Austria are also accepted at the Visa Centre of Finland.
