Visa Application Center caters the applications for Short stay Visas (90 days within 6 month period). Passport should be valid for at least three months beyond the intended stay in Finland and there should be at least two empty pages available in the passport. The passport shall not be more than 10 years old. A new passport must be obtained before submission of your application, if the said conditions are not met.
All applications collected by the Visa Application Centre will be sent to the Embassy of Finland in Kyiv for assessment and resolution. Visa Application Centre staff has no say in the visa decisions taken by the Embassy.
Note! Who can submit a visa application?
- With launch of VIS in Ukraine from 23rd June 2015, the applicants need to apply personally at the visa centre with few exemptions. Please click here for further information on VIS.
- Travel agencies accredited to the Embassy of Finland could accompany the group of applicants for applying at the visa centre. Only one member of the agency will be allowed in a group.
Visa Category chosen by an applicant must be based on the purpose of travel to Finland and the decision must be made by the applicant themselves – Visa Application Center staff will not be able to assist you to take this decision.
Applicants for short term visas can also apply directly with Embassy of Finland by taking prior appointment. To book appointments please contact our Helpline number.
If you wish to visit Finland for a short period of time, you must obtain a visa prior to entry if you come from a country with a visa requirement for entering Finland. Ukrainian nationals require a visa to Finland.
A visa is only intended to allow a foreign national to visit Finland and/or the other Schengen countries** for a limited period of time (90 days). If you wish to reside in Finland for an extended period of time (more than three months), you need to apply for a long term visa (Residence and Work Permit) at the Embassy of Finland, Kyiv, directly.
The possession of a visa does not confer an automatic right of entry to a Schengen country. The visa holder is requested to present proof that they fulfill the entry conditions at the border (valid travel document, valid visa, and valid purpose of travel with adequate means of travel).
In order to receive a SCHENGEN-visa from the Embassy of Finland in Kyiv your main destination must be FINLAND or the longest part of your stay must be within Finland. If you plan to visit several Schengen countries and the duration of the stay in those countries are the same, the first entry must be through Finland.
