ALL ABOUT SCHENGEN VISAS
All Russian and CIS countries citizens when entering Finland and other countries under the Schengen agreement have to apply for a visa. Before applying, please ensure you are very clear on your ‘purpose of visit’. Schengen visa has to be obtained from the Embassy / Consulate of the country where the Main Purpose of Travel lies. In case of travel to more than one Schengen country, please submit your application to the Embassy / Consulate where you will be staying for the maximum number of days. In case of equal stay, one has to apply at the Schengen country which is first port of entry.

There is a service charge of 21 Euros (inclusive of VAT) levied per application over and above the visa fees.

The applicable visa fee in Russian Rubles is as per the current exchange rate.
The fees are non-refundable.

The applicants who submit their applications at the visa centre should pay the visa fee at the cash counter of the centre.

Processing terms

Visa application can be submitted three months before the trip, we recommend you to apply at least 2 weeks before the planned trip. Some applications may require further processing. Please note that all applications are processed individually. The Visa Officer may request further documentation, information or you may be called for an interview which can prolong the processing time.

Urgent Visas
If the application needs to be considered as an urgent case (processing time three working days), then you should decide the same before submitting the application. Urgent applications are processed only when provided with a written proof (Supplementary Documents). After the documents are submitted and accepted it is not possible to speed up the process.

Who can apply?

Applicant him/herself

Family member for their nearest relatives (Parent, Child (>18), Grandparent, Grandchild, Spouse, Sibling)

Organizations and companies for their employees and employer’s family members if employer’s documents submit the same time (proving work record card)

One member of the group can submit applications of the whole group. The person who submits documents has to submit his/her documents at the same time as the documents of the rest of the group.

Authority letter is not required.

Travel agencies accredited by Finland Embassy, Moscow. Non-accredited travel agencies should submit applications of their clients through the accredited travel agencies.

Individual applicants while submitting document in the Visa Centre need to provide “Personal data processing consent”.

Urgent Visas

Applications submitted from applicants residing in the territory of the Russian Federation beyond 500 km from Moscow on the territory served by the Embassy, are considered urgent if possible, within 3 working days. The period of consideration is only valid in cases where the applicant personally travels to Moscow for a visa. It is necessary to have your internal passport with you. This service is only for Russian citizens.

Сollection of documents from 9.00 to 17.00, Monday-Friday

Processed passports received from the Embassy of Finland will be kept at the Visa Centre of Finland for 30 calendar days. Post that period the passports will be returned to the Embassy of Finland.

Documents required:

Applicant collecting him/herself (for third countries citizens also):

Internal passport
Agreement and ICR-receipt

Сollection of documents for close relatives (parents, children, grandparents, grandchildren, siblings):

Internal or foreign passport
Agreement and ICR-receipt
Documents proofing family ties (e.g. birth certificate, marriage certificate)

Сollection of documents for the employees by the representative working in that organization

Internal or foreign passport
Agreement and ICR-receipt
An authority letter from the company with the following details specified:

A list of people (with name and passport number) for passport collection
Name and passport number of the person, who is authorized to collect the documents.
Upon presenting of labor book

Сollection of documents for the group by a member of the group:

Internal or foreign passport
Agreement and ICR-receipt
Document confirming the group (e.g. hotel booking), where each member of the group is mentioned.

Сollection of documents by the third party:

Internal or foreign passport
Agreement and ICR-receipt
An authority letter for documents collection.

For accredited travel agencies it’s mandatory to present an accreditation card.

Since our work is primarily administrative in nature, we have no say on whether you will be granted a visa and how long it will take to process, as this is entirely the prerogative of The Embassy of Finland, Moscow.
