Welcome to the website of the Visa Application Centre of the Embassy of Finland in Kyiv, Ukraine. This website provides information on how to apply for a short stay Schengen visa to travel to Finland as your main country of destination.

Step 2 Before you decide to apply for a visa please make sure you familiarize yourself with the information on the visa subclass you are applying for. Quick links to information on visa categories and other helpful information including Visa Fee, VFS Service Charge and Processing Time can be found on the Visa Wizard page on this website.

Step 3 Applicants should fill the Download Forms corresponding to the visa subclass under which they wish to lodge their application. Applicants can get the Download Forms by visiting the nearest Finland Visa Application Centre or by downloading the forms from Applications and Forms.

Dear Applicants, Please note that Medical Insurance is a mandatory document. We request that you purchase insurance from the Visa Application Center or from an authorized agency. We are unable to guarantee the authenticity of policy purchased from any other sources.

We are currently facing technical issues with the delivery of passports and working towards resolving this as soon as possible. We would like to assure you that your passports are secured and will be delivered to you soon.
All Finnish missions abroad and organisations issuing visas, including the Border Guard, Finnish Customs and the Police, started to use the new EU visa sticker on 11 November 2019. Regulation (EU) 2017/1370, amending Council Regulation (EC) No 1683/95 on a uniform format for visas, was adopted on 04 July 2017. All Member States must start using the new visa sticker by 21 December 2019.

The introduction of the new visa sticker does not require any measures from visa applicants. Visas issued before 11 November 2019 will be valid for the period of validity indicated on the visa sticker.

In December - March, the Embassy is usually overloaded with applications. We recommend applying for a seasonal / other work permit in advance during the year. An application for a work permit can be submitted as soon as you have the necessary documents. The rule "not earlier than three months before the start of work" applies only to visa applicants.

During the Christmas holidays from 16 December 2019 to 07 January 2020 the Embassy will not accept an application for a residence permit in Finland.
